YPT Boston looks forward to participating in the Go Boston 2030 Visioning Lab! The session is entitled "What would it mean to use transportation to build civic space?" Come join a discussion featuring Jascha Franklin-Hodge, Boston’s Chief Information Officer; Lori Lobenstine, from the Design Studio for Social Intervention; and Aziza Robinson-Goodnight, Artist in Transit for the Fairmount Cultural Corridor. This event is sponsored by Future Boston Alliance, ONEin3 and YPT.

The event will take place on Friday, May 8th in the China Trade Center at 2 Boylston Street, Boston from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. After the discussion participants are invited to gather at The Good Life, 28 Kingston Street, for drinks and further conversation. Light appetizers will be provided. Distinguished Speaker Event with Jeff Speck

Join YPT Boston as we welcome Jeff Speck for our spring distinguished speaker event! Jeff Speck is a notable city planner and urban designer with an impressive career working and advocating for smart growth and sustainable design on an international level. His recent book, Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America, One Step at a Time, was the best selling planning/design title of 2013. Come hear Jeff discuss his thoughts and insights into urban planning, transportation, and sustainable design. There will be time for questions and answers following the talk. You won't want to miss this great opportunity!

Along with YPT, this event is being co-hosted by NEITE, MAITE, MassAPA, and the MIT Transportation Club

This event will be located in the 2nd floor conference rooms of the State Transportation Building. There is a $10 fee for non-members, but the event is free for members! A catered buffet style dinner will be provided. Attendees will be encouraged to gather at a nearby venue afterwards (location TBD) to unwind and enjoy the company of other attendees.

Legion Software Lunch & Learn on Pedestrian Modeling

YPT Boston welcomes Frederick Frank to discuss his work at Legion Software, a pedestrian simulation software. Legion simulates the movement of pedestrians in a quantitatively verifiable manner, taking into account how individuals interact with each other and with the physical obstacles in their environment.
